Google has unveiled a new tool to help people maintain social distance. The device is currently only available for Android and uses the phone’s camera to visualize the white circle around the user through aged reality (AR). The radius of the user in this circle is 2 meters. The website says, “This experiment uses WebXR, which provides a 2-meter guide to the social distance in your area.”

How to use the SODAR

To use the tool, users must visit https://sodar.withgoogle.com/ from their Android phone while using the Google Chrome browser. You must then grant the required permissions and then display the c .mero on the floor so that the instrument is stored directly. Once that is done, the tool creates a 2-meter circle around the user that can be used to ensure social distance.

Google is also working with Apple to create a contact tracking system. The API is now available and Switzerland is the first country in Switzerland to create its own contact tracking application called COVID. It is currently undergoing pilot tests and is being used by EPFL personnel, ETH Zurich, the military, as well as some hospitals and government agencies. Due to data security functions added to the API by Google and Apple Plus, the Swisscovid app cannot track a user’s location.
